TGIS "Thank God It's September"

August was a very busy and frustrating month of mine and Anthony's life. First it all started when our babysitter from last year, Miss Kim, whom we love decided to take a job and was no longer going to watch kids. So we thought we got lucky and found another lady to watch Anthony. Sounded so good to! Well, his first day there (my first day back to work) I dropped him off that morning, he wasn't feeling his normal happy self and had a snotty nose. But soon after I dropped him off the babysitter called and said he was crying and wouldn't stop and felt bad. I wanted to go get him but was stuck on a bus in Sugar Land for a lunch with my school. LONG story short...by the time I got there the babysitter was crying and the husband had taken the rest of the day off to help her with ALL the kids. She had like 4 babies and 3 or 4 older kids that were about to go back to school. My impression was that she would only have 3 kids total..not ture!!! The husband actually said it would be a good idea if I found a new place and that his wife had taken on too much and couldn't handle it...WOW! So after calling and talking to about 5 different in-home daycares and 2 daycares I finally found one that would work. It was a very stressful week but we got through it.

So remember the runny nose I was talking about...well, the next day Robby stayed home with him b/c he started running fever. My dad came down to watch Anthony for the next 3 days. He ran fever for 3 days. The nurse kept telling me what to do over the phone and said I didn't really need to come in. Finally on Friday I called and made an appt for 3:pm. When I got there (and waited in the room for 1 hour and 15 mintues) doc came in and said he was very glad I came and it was worth the wait...Anthony's left eardrum was about to rupture and his right ear was bad too. He put Anthony on a 10 day antibiotic. He is much better now and we go back to the doctor this Friday for a checkup to see how his ears are doing.

So, with his babysitters and his poor ears, we have had quite an August!

Oh, did I mention Anthony got his first tooth also!!! YAY, something good did happen in August.

Well, it's been hard to find the time to blog since school has started. Anthony goes to the doctor on Friday and I'm hoping he can go ahead and have his 9 month checkup too. So we'll see if I post again soon!

Enjoy some new pictures!

8 MONTHS OLD

8 Months Old

Well, my baby boy has turned 8 months old at 7:19 this morning. What is he doing?...well:
-he is crawling all over the house. Can be in another room in about 15 sec!
-chases the cat all over the house...Emma does not like it.
-Still likes to say "dadadadada" all the time
-Pulls up on everthing and is trying to let go and stand...but lands on his butt.
-SMILES all the time.
-Is taking longer naps (now that summer is almost over)
-Won't let you change a diaper...is always turning and tossing!!!!!!
-Sleeps from 8:30 pm to about 7:30 am...Yay!
-Eats all the time...loves to snack on Puffs (and can pick up the puffs and put them in his month now)and eat off of my bananas.
-Robby gave him a sip of coke...bad daddy...and Anthony liked it :(
-Likes to play with grown-up toys (the remote, phones, cords, magazines) guess mommy needs to do MORE baby proofing.

I have had the best time of my life staying home with Anthony this summer. I will miss him greatly when I go back to work next week. I already start crying when I think about it. Anthony is the love of my life...besides Robby. I can't wait to have another little miracle for A to play with.

Football season has started. This week was 2-a-days. Robby will not be seeing Anthony in the mornings or maybe not at night either if he gets home too late. It will be hard for all of us, but I hope that Kempner goes far into the playoffs...the coaches deserve it!!! Believe it or not, but when football season is over Anthony will be close to being one years old...WOW!

Enjoy the pictures

"I think there is something on my feet???"

"Yes, I knew I felt something...if I could only eat it!!!"

"Mmmmmm, that is good!"

"Momma's purse is good too!"

"I'm going to pee in my pants if you keep making me laugh momma"

"I'm too busy crawling to stop and smile"

"Good Luck this season dada"

Anthony Update

My little boy isn't so little anymore...he will be driving tomorrow I think! He is so in to standing ALL THE TIME. That is all he wants to do. He won't even sit in my lap anymore...just stands on me and tries to climb me using my hair...OUCH! Robby started walking around 9 months old so I'm thinkin' that Anthony may be around that age too. Today he was standing holding on to the sofa, then took one hand off to turn and watch the TV...he balanced himself holding on to the sofa with one hand for about 30 seconds. I just can't believe how fast he is growing. I love that booger!!! (I had to just google booger b/c I wasn't sure how to spell it and there are some cute kid websites about boogers..he he he). Here are some pics of my little man:

Way to go 'Old Buc's Barbecue'

This past weekend was the famous Mesquito Festival in Clute, TX. Robby is on his buddy's (BJ) barbecue team the Old Buc's. The festival was lots of fun. This year we won 3rd place out of 40-something teams on ribs...they were awesome...I'm still eating them (had them for dinner tonight. Just wanted to give a shout out to the Old Buc's and say congratulations on the ribs.

My mom, nieces, and Anthony and I went down on Saturday and had lots of fun. Thank goodness for the trailer (the AC to keep Anthony cool). Here are some pics:
The two in the middle are my nieces: Sierra (older) and Cheyenne. The other girls are friends they made

Daddy and Anthony...Hmmm...I'm always the one taking the pictures...I need to be in more of them!

Thursday we took the girls to Schlitterbahn in Galveston. I was like a kid...and had so much fun. Anthony stayed with Grandma Cici (next year he will get to go). Robby made me go down the tall pink slide...it was very scary (the older I get the more afraid of heights I get). My favorite is just relaxing and floatin' the lazy river! This is the 4th year we've taken my nieces and my nephew (although he didn't get to go this year). I can't wait to go again next summer.

Summer is flying!!!

Man...can't believe I only have about 3 more weeks of summer left before I have to return to work. I will miss my little boy so much! Wish I could stay home with him but then I might not be able to afford to feed the little hippo. He eats so much! Three bottles of formula and three meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner all in one day. Man, I feel like I'm always buying baby food. Can't wait til he eats our food. It is so cute when he watches us eat and drink and every time he starts saying "Mmmmmmmm Mmmmmmmm Mmmmmmmm" It's like he is telling us that he wants some too. We've been giving him some of our food, like cheese and cheerios and some vegetables and he seems to like it.

Last week we were about to leave for our annual Austin trip and Anthony started feeling bad. He was running 102.1 temp so we took him to the doctor. He had to have some blood taken to see if he had something viral or bacterial. The nurse put a HOT PINK bandaid on him...you can only imagine what Robby's reation was!!! The nurse thought it was SO cute. The next morning they called and said that everything looked fine and he prob had a little virus that would just need to run it's course, and a couple days later he was better with NO fever. It was so sad. You could really tell that he wasn't feeling well. He would only want me (his mamma) which was really sweet and was tired all the time. He took nap after nap! So glad he is better!
Here is his Hot Pink bandaid

Well we had a great trip to Austin. We go every summer to visit Robby's sister and her husband. We took the dogs too...did I mention I'm getting a Suburban for Christmas?..and that still won't be big enough for our little family and the dogs! Anyway, we spent the day in Fredericksburg on Friday which was a blast. Anthony was a good sport and shopped all day with us. On the way home we decided to stop off in Luckenbach. If you haven't been, you must go. How CUTE!!! There are seriously only 2 or 3 little wooden buildings there and one road. It is so little. We stopped to get a few shirts and walk around there at the post office.
Rob didn't realize that he had to turn Anthony around for a family photo!
Here is the little Post Office where you buy everything: shirts, beer...etc.

While we were in Austin Anthony went to his 4th birthday party. My sister-n-law's husband's sister's son (did you get that?) was turning 3 and he had his party at this neat place called Pump It Up. There were HUGE bounce houses for kids and adults and Robby and I had lots of fun. But I have to say...it's not as easy playing at 30 years old as it was 5 years ago! Anthony also had fun. You could see it in his eyes that he wanted to play so bad. He was amazed by all the fun and the kids. We did put him in one of the houses and after a little crawling around he spit up...go figure! Did I mention that he is crawling after the dogs now...all over the house!

Can you find Anthony? He is amazed by all the other kids

LeeAnn's The BEST

Back in April at my best friends wedding, my photographer LeeAnn Widyn (who also did Ruth's wedding) pulled Robby, Anthony and me to the side to take some family picutes. I just received the the CD so I thought I'd post the pictures. LeeAnn is seriously the BEST photographer ever!!! Visit her website at http://widynphotography.com

7 Months Old and crawling...we have trouble on our hands!

My 7 month old chunky monkey!

Well goodness...Anthony keeps getting older! I can't believe he is already 7 months old. He is sooo fun to play with. We rough-house much more, he loves the "tickle monster" and his laugh is so cute. I'm just gonna EAT him one day! Robby and I just look at each other all the time like "wow...he is awesome". We are in baby heaven! Anthony is now crawling. He actually took his first crawl the day he turned 7 months old, on the 11th. Sunday morning Robby and I sat down to eat our french toast so we put 'A' on his play blanket in the living room and a few minutes later we look up and there he is...in the kitchen. It takes him a while to get from A to B, but he does it eventually. We have t-r-o-u-b-l-e on our hands. He is going to be into everything as soon as he gets going fast. Today he actually threw a temper-tantrum. He wanted me to pick him up but I sat about 10 feet away so he could crawl to me and oh my gosh..he hit the floor with his hands and put his face straight down into the "hairy" carpet screaming. I didn't know this started so soon.

He has also started to pull himself up on things. Today he pulled himself up to his music table and started playing with it, but fell about 30 sec. later. He has made so many accomplishments lately. We are so proud of him! Enjoy the pictures.

My first picture with NIC (short for NICU) This is the monkey that stayed with Anthony in the NICU and has slept with him in his crib everynight. He loves NIC and plays with him every morning when he wakes up

I'm gonna get you!

Watch out...here I come

Anthony loves his new splish and splash pool

And Brady has to be in on the action too!
