cute as a PUMPKIN
Tonight I took Anthony to the pumpkin patch here in town. He's been saying "pumpkin" a lot lately...because we see them everywhere. Last year he was only 10 months old and holding himself up on the pumpkins...this year, at 22 months...he's trying to hold up the pumpkins! He's at the age where he won't LOOK at mommy for a picture unless I bribe him. You wouldn't believe the things that come out of my mouth just to get him to look at me. He thinks that when I say "smile" he is suppose to put his teeth together and grin...you'll see a few of those silly pictures. We might be making another trip before Halloween to see if I can get some more pumpkin pictures.

Here I'm saying, "Where's the mommy pumpkin?" and he's pointing it the big one :)

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice...
That's right...it's a GIRL!

Monday morning we had our anatomy scan to find out the sex of the baby and to see if our little baby girl was growing and developing like she should be. Dr. Rowe's words were: beautiful, nice, perfect, gorgeous...so I guess she is all of those! Everything looked good: heart, measurements, brain, etc.
I think Robby was a little shocked even though he'd been saying all along it's a girl. He never REALLY prepared himself for the doctor to say "girl". He'll be a great daddy to a little girl! Robby and I were both kind of pulling for a boy for Anthony's sake...just so they could be close and play good together (only being 2 yrs apart). But I'm already shopping online for all that cute girly bedding and decor!!!
Unfortunately the Texans lost on Sunday...but Anthony was dressed and cheering for the Texans!!! He's getting cuter and cuter everyday. Here's our Lil Texan!

bye-bye PACI & bye-bye SUMMER
First of all...thank heaven summer is over today! I have been praying for fall to hurry up so we can start having some cooler weather. Now I know just b/c it's fall doesn't mean cooler weather, but it does mean it's getting closer. And already we are having a cool front come in this weekend. The highs will be in the high 80's...YAY. Anthony LOVES to play outside and I don't like going out when it's so hot. So...yay for Fall!
BYE-BYE PACI...

For the past month I've been slowly throwing paci's away. Our goal was to somehow take the paci away before we moved Anthony into his new room and before the baby comes. Momma has been very slow at this. I think I'm the one that needed to be pacified when Anthony fusses...not him :)
Last Friday morning (almost a week ago) Anthony woke up and handed me his paci. I told him to put it in his bed (that's where they always stay since the paci is ONLY used in bed...for about 3 months now). He said no and handed it to me again. So I took the paci and threw it into his bed. He was very upset with me and crawled into bed to retrieve it. Again he handed it to me. So I said "ok, I'll put it on your dresser". He seemed ok with that...so the morning went on as usual. I didn't really think anything of the situation. His teacher at daycare said he had not asked for it all week and hasn't had it one time for nap all week! I was surprised. Friday night when I told him it was time for bed he did not say "paci" and run to his room to get it. Instead we just put him in bed with no paci and he slept all night without it. From then on he has not even mentioned "paci"...so I guess it's gone for good!
WOW...that was easy. I didn't have to be the mean momma. Anthony decided on his own he was a big boy now. I'm so proud of him.

A coaches wife...
I've always said it takes a special person to teach jr high. My thought this morning,
"It takes a special person to be a coaches wife!"
I've been married to a coach now for 10 football seasons and it's not the easiest life, nor is it normal! My husband is obsessed with football and absolutely loves the game. It's more a hobby than a job. One good thing about football season is that it only last about 4 months a year and not any longer. My job is to be a single parent 6 and sometimes 7 days a week and try to be a supportive wife to Robby. Every year I cry (my mid-season breakdown) and swear that I hate football. Robby leaves the house every morning at 5:30 am and gets home about 7pm (not bad...in years past it's been 8 or 9). He spends about an hour or 2 with me and Anthony then heads to the study to work on whatever it is he does til about 10 or 11...then comes to bed. Friday is game night (and in this district sometimes Saturday night). On game night he gets home at 2:30 a.m., sleeps about 3 hours and gone by 6 or 7 the next morning and works at least 1/2 a day.
I love Robby, and I do love football...but last night was my first break-down this season. I figured since this week was a Saturday night game and it wasn't til 7 pm that Rob wouldn't have to leave for work until about noon...man was I wrong. Last night when Robby told me he was leaving at 8 o'clock this morning I completely broke down. That is just NUTS to work a total of 18 hours for a 3 hours game!!!!! That's 8 a.m. til about 2 a.m....a total of 18 hours. I have to keep telling myself "whatever...it will be over soon". I'm not sure if it ever gets any easier...but I'm in it for the long run! Robby's dream is to become a high school football Head Coach...and then one day an AD (athletic director)...so this will be my life for quite some time. It could be worse...he could work out of town I guess...or I could have 6 kids and married to a football coach (like my friend Lori)!
I hope we win tonight. Anthony is excited about going. He's been saying, "daddy's football game" all day. He is now putting 3 and 4 words together!

Anthony and Baby update
It's been awhile since I've blogged so there is a lot to say. I'll start with school...
School started last Monday. It's been very busy at work with all the beginning of the year testing for reading recovery. It's still shocking to me how these new first graders don't know half of their alphabet...and they're in first grade...hmmm? I'm not going to get started! Anthony has also started school (or daycare). He cried "mama, mama" and screamed for the first few days and then I cried in the car on the way to work. It is truely heart breaking. Thurs and Fri he did much better and just started playing when I dropped him off.
I went to the doctor last Friday for my 2nd prenatal visit. This was the visit where you first hear the heartbeat with the doppler. The doctor was digging all over my belly with the doppler and couldn't find a heartbeat...it was a little scary. She finally put it away and said she wanted to an ultrasound to see the heartbeat so we went to the ultrasound room. I was praying very hard that everything was fine. And of course it was...the baby was turning flips and waving and kicking those little legs. The heartbeat was 166. I got a new picture of the baby. It's amazing to see the differece of this picture (13 weeks) compared to the last one (8 weeks). Sept 27th I will find out what the sex is...I can't wait!

Last night was our first football game, Kempner vs. Seven Lakes. It was possibly one of the most exciting games I've seen in a long time. Back and forth scoring all night long. They won but we played very hard. We had several opportunities to score with 45 sec left in the game and just couldn't get it done. Oh well, we will win next week...hopefully. The final score was 34 to 30 :( I took a few pictures at the game.
On the way to the game I asked Anthony to smile at momma so I could take a picture...HE DID! I was so happy...he never looks at me when I want a picture. Isn't his grin sooooo cute! I think he's being silly.

My husband is quite the carpenter...
Yesterday Robby spent about 6 hours in the garage building a step stool for Anthony. I've been wanting to buy one for a while, but never found the one I REALLY wanted. Robby did a GREAT job and I'm very proud of him! Here are some pictures of Anthony brushing his teeth tonight on his new stool. What a big boy!!! Now he's going to have to make another one for the new baby...

Today we went over to Brooks and Burkley's house to play. They had a great time and Anthony got every toy out...we had a lot of cleaning up to do. Aren't they cute...

I don't know where to start...
I have so many posts to post...
I'll start with today and then work my way back to Father's day. You're probably wondering why it's been so long since I've blogged. Well, it's been a while since I've done just about anything!!! For about the past 3 weeks I've had a hard time getting out of bed, brushing my teeth, cooking dinner, playing with Anthony...all I've wanted to do is sleep and sit sit sit. Oh, and some nausea!!! Have you guessed what's wrong with me yet?
YES, I'M PREGNANT!
I'LL BE 9 WEEKS ON FRIDAY
TODAY WAS OUR FIRST DR VISIT
EVERYTHING WAS GREAT!
WE SAW THE HEARTBEAT
DUE DATE: FEB 25TH
Ok, now here's how it happened. Because most of you know that we don't just "get" pregnant...we need professional help! Last May I decided to go to my OBGYN and beg for Clomid. I thought my doctor would laugh at me knowing all we've been through...why would clomid work now??? Rob and I were waiting for another IVF study, but that could be months or years so I felt like I was wasting time doing nothing and thought why not take some clomid if my Doc would go for it. If you read back through the years of blogging you'll know that back in 2005 I used clomid (4 rounds)...nothing! Then had several procedures to find out why we couldn't get pregnant...then did four rounds of IUI...nothing! Finally IVF and we got our sweet little boy, Anthony. It took many years to get our little boy and I didn't want to wait that long for another one. But we just couldn't afford IVF, so we've been waiting for another study.
Story gets crazier...I actually took one month of clomid and then came across an IVF study in Dallas, not Free, but we just decided we'd pay for it. I called my doctor and told her I wasn't going to continue taking another month of clomid since I found the study. My parents live in Dallas so I'd just stay with them. Then about 4 days before I was leaving for Dallas to start IVF I decided to take a pregnancy test just to make sure that the clomid didn't work...or DID work :)
It's still so unbelievable...a miracle, truly. We are so excited that we actually "got" pregnant on our own with just a little help from a pill and no major procedures.
Our little bundle of Joy
